Brazilian wholesale electricity market operator supported by PWSC for validation of long- and medium-term planning tools.
In 2000–2001 PWSC assisted ASMAE, the wholesale energy market administrator in Brazil, with testing and validation of computer programs used for long and medium term operations planning of the integrated Brazilian hydro-thermal system and for determining spot market prices. Work focused on ensuring that the modelling tools correctly reflected the physical system and market rules so that prices and operating signals would be robust for the Brazilian energy market.
