Sri Lankan power utility for which PWSC has assisted with hydro-thermal expansion planning and operational optimisation.
PWSC has supported the Ceylon Electricity Board in several roles. A 1997 critical appraisal examined CEB’s 1996 generation system expansion plan and associated investment methodologies as part of an international review. In 2001–2002 PWSC updated the SYSIM program for simulating and optimising operation of the integrated Sri Lankan hydro-thermal and irrigation supply system under a World Bank funded project. Related work with other partners, such as Lahmeyer International and the Overseas Development Administration, has addressed feasibility and optimisation of individual projects including Kukule and Victoria, feeding into CEB’s broader planning framework.
