From 1984 to the early 1990s PWSC undertook several assignments for the Commission of the European Communities. Work included initiating and managing co-operation programmes on decentralised energy systems in China and the Pacific region, preparing a manual for rational electricity planning in isolated or island communities (REPLICA) and specifying computing facilities for organisations such as OLADE. PWSC also managed implementation phases, including market analysis and promotion of joint ventures for manufacture of supply equipment.
