Reliability index that measures the expected volume of energy demand that cannot be supplied over a period.
Expected unserved energy (EUE) sums the energy associated with all shortage events over a year or study horizon, usually expressed in MWh or as a percentage of total demand. It is particularly relevant for hydro–thermal systems where the size as well as the frequency of shortages is important for assessing economic and social impacts.
