Reliability index that measures the probability that available capacity will be insufficient to meet demand in a given period.
Loss of load probability (LOLP) gives the chance that, in a specified hour, day or week, demand will exceed available generation capacity. It is often derived from many simulated or enumerated system states and can be converted into LOLE or used directly as a planning or operating criterion.
