In many PWSC projects the water resource system includes cascades of reservoirs on the same river and on tributaries. Operating decisions at upstream reservoirs affect downstream inflows, hydropower generation, irrigation deliveries and flood risks. Multi-reservoir models are therefore required to determine coordinated rules and evaluate system performance.
